May 28, 2019— Commercial real estate firm, Kidder Mathews, announced it has opened its newest office in Pleasanton and has recruited several local brokers who have extensive careers and experience in the Greater East Bay and Tri-Valley region. The new office is located at 4305 Hacienda Drive, Suite 180, in Pleasanton, California.

Kidder Mathews is the fastest growing independently owned commercial real estate firm on the West Coast, with 800 real estate professionals and staff in 22 offices in Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, and Nevada. As part of its aggressive West Coast growth strategy, the Seattle-based firm continues to expand operations throughout California. The Pleasanton office is the firms’ fifteenth location in California and the fifth to open within the last year.

“It has been a part of our strategic plan to open an additional Bay Area office in the Greater East Bay market, so we’ve been seeking the right caliber of professionals to partner with us. We are extremely excited about this group in our new Pleasanton office as we continue to grow our presence in the San Francisco Bay Area and Northern California. With the new office, Kidder Mathews now has seven offices and over 100 brokers serving the Northern California and Northern Nevada markets,” said Eric Luhrs, Kidder Mathews’ regional president of brokerage for Northern California and Nevada.

“Kidder Mathews is a rare real estate services firm in this era of continued consolidation and public ownership of commercial brokerage companies,” said Luhrs. “The firm’s independent and privately held structure allows it to focus on what matters most, providing superior service to our clients. Because we don’t answer to public shareholders or private equity owners, we have the ability to provide outstanding resources and culture to our agents and clients,” he said.

The new hires, all formerly with Colliers, include:

  • Ian Thomas, Executive Vice President, Office Specialist
  • Jason Chandler, Senior Vice President, Office Specialist
  • Jason Allen, Senior Vice President, Investment Specialist
  • Mike Medeiros, Associate, Office Specialist

“We are thrilled to be joining Kidder Mathews, and appreciate the opportunity to be part of a privately held organization with a deep history of market expertise, transactional volume and work ethic. Our clients demand exceptional service, timely information, creative strategy, and ultimately – results. The support system within Kidder coupled with our collaborative, client centric approach is critical to our success,” said Thomas.

Kidder Mathews attributes its fast-growing success to its unique platform, and to the national trend of consolidation in the commercial real estate industry among publicly held firms, which is typically not favorable to professional service providers. Kidder Mathews is a privately held firm that is known for its strong marketing and research support, a streamlined management structure, opportunity for equity for its professionals, and a commission structure that is considerably more favorable to its brokers than its competitors. Due to the attractive culture, the firm boasts 49 Best Places to Work Awards in various publications in California, Washington, and Oregon.
